I've been the full time Web Producer for the web site version of our beloved Mini Truckin' Magazine for almost a full year now. A whole year, can you believe it! I certainly do think time flies when you're having fun!
For almost a year, I have put almost 90 miles every work day on my mini (except for a few weeks when she was not drivable). For almost a year, I have worked on getting magazine content online for you guys, and also on wallpapers, show coverage, and much more, including VIDEOS!
In case you haven't noticed, a lot of changes have occurred on minitruckinweb in that short year, and it's certainly been a pleasure to be part of those changes!
In that time, our old forums have been completely scrapped (do you remember them?) and newer forums have been introduced, leaving us with a blank canvas of virtually 0 users. Soon after that, blogs were introduced to MT web. Again, we found ourselves with a blank template that begged for anything mini truckin related. And most recently, the Reader's Rides section, which we had all been pushing for enormously, was introduced. It was a Saturday morning when I first went to an empty rides.minitruckinweb to upload the first ride.
It's been fun to watch this MT community, including forums, blogs, and rides, grow to over 600 users. I hope it's understandable that starting a community from scratch has been a daunting challenge for me and a load that I simply cannot alone carry on my shoulders, and never will be able to; besides, a community of one is no community at all.
Some people come chill for a little and become part of the MT community. I would like to whole heartedly thank those individuals! Others wonder why we don't have multitudes of users and thousands of posts, and move on to join the bigger, more established communities. I feel like shouting, "Well, we're NEW HERE! What do you expect? This stuff doesn't just happen overnight. It takes time; it takes patience; it takes others telling others telling others. Believe me, I've been here since Day 1. What you see now is huge compared to what it was then!"
So thank you for your support; thank you for stepping up. I notice, believe me.
