I was hoping to make this drive from Southern California to Lake Havasu, Arizona, with air conditioning this year, but unfortunately, blasting vent with windows down is how it's going to be. At least I get to go!
I cannot believe that it's time for ANOTHER night-before-HAVOC-Havasu blog! Seems like just yesterday I was in this exact situation! This will be my second year driving my S10 out to Havasu, so I know we're in for a long drive and warm weather. It looks like the highs are going to be 88, 89, and 96 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively, which is "cooler" than last year. There also looks to be a 10% chance of precipitation on Friday and Sunday, and winds at 20 to 30 mph winds tomorrow. At least the actual show isn't tomorrow, as wind could become annoying.
As for my truck - I haven't touched it at all. I plan on checking tire pressure, and that's about it. It's way too late to make any major changes, and I figure I'll worry about cleaning it up once we're out there. My main priority is to keep it safely on the road for the 600+ miles. Remind me to grab some DVDs to keep me entertained along the way!
This year's show should be tons of fun. In addition, it will be a great opportunity to pick up Mini Truckin' Magazine gear like stickers and T-shirts. It will also be nice to relax in the sunshine (as I am indoors all day), and try out a new summer bathing suit that I just bought. I need to remember to bring sunscreen!
See you tomorrow morning/afternoon at Hooters in Anaheim. Remember, we leave at 12:30PM sharp!
Until Monday, hold down the fort here at minitruckinweb.com, and if you can't make it to the show, have a great weekend! I can't wait to share pictures, video, and stories next week!
