On Saturday, May 31, 2008, No Sympathy, the custom car and truck club that I'm proud to roll with, held a club picnic.
Having its highs and lows over the past 10 plus years, No Sympathy now has a few chapters sprouting across the nation. No Sympathy has a variety of vehicles, from cover trucks (for example, June 2007 Sport Truck) to everyday daily drivers, to project trucks, to soon-to-be-project-trucks. While some clubs judge based on the quality of the vehicle (which is not a bad thing), I believe No Sympathy focuses more on the person and the hobby. (If this wasn't the case, my truck wouldn't be "allowed.") As with all clubs, some "members" have come to the club, only to leave for other "crews" that disappear within months; others have stuck with it for a long time. Those members that have stuck with it for a long time know the benefits and long-term friendships that can form through clubs. Having no dues or mandatory meetings, No Sympathy is the type of club where the members can pick up right where they left off with each other, even if months have gone by without talking. A special thanks goes out to all those who made this Southern California picnic possible, and to those who rolled out for the relaxing day of food, trucks, and sunshine.
