These pictures of the SEMA show and surrounding area were taken out of my hotel room on the 24th floor.   

With the 2008 SEMA Show officially over, I am left with a bundle of memories and a grip of photos. This trade show, which hurriedly sneaks up on just about everyone involved, culminates in a gigantic, slow-moving week of long days, sore feet, slipping patience and deteriorating enthusiasm. The dress attire shifts from business casual to barely casual as the week progresses, as comfort quickly becomes more and more of a priority. An interest in anything automotive inevitably overloads the senses and quickly desensitizes you to what's at hand - another Ferrari, more GTRs, another cover truck, more pristine hot rods, Best of Show; the SEMA experience is certainly exhausting.

I arrived around lunchtime last Wednesday, and stayed until the end of the show on Friday. They say you don't make the same mistake twice, but that's wrong, from my experience, at least. Although I knew wearing high heels would end disastrously, I believed that since I knew what I was in for, I would be able to handle it like a champ. Not so. High heels, even though only for a few hours, hurt at SEMA - every time.

This year's show was bigger than I was expecting. Even though the industry and economy are going through hard times, there was not a devastating decrease in SEMA's size, in my opinion. Although there was not as much overflow this year, it was by no means a "bust" or waste of time to be there. The show did go on, and the turnout was still impressive. This year the GTR, Challenger, and Charger made themselves known.
