After a dirt bike ride with my family and awesome co-workers out in the 29 Palms area last Saturday, December 6, 2008, we said our good-byes and began the trek home.
Needing food, my family and I decided to hit up a Del Taco along the freeway. Sitting so we could see the road as well as our loaded trailer, we saw one custom truck pull into the drive next door. Being the truck fans that we are, my brother and I noted it and eyed it until out of sight. Moments later, we spotted another truck... then another... then a lifted truck... then a car ridin' low. Upon finishing our meal and returning to our van and trailer, we caught glimpse of the parking lot next door, which was lined with custom cars and trucks. My brother and I trampled through the bushes, straight into the action.
Spotting three under construction trucks ont trailers in addition to the other vehicles, we couldn't help but laugh because we both had no idea where we were or what was going on. Jumping on any opportunity to grab some pictures of trucks, we began clicking away. My camera snapped off a whole 3 shots before dying, so we resorted to my brother's cell phone.
By checking our food receipt to see where in the world we were and then hitting up the internet, I believe we had come across the Banning Cruise Night. I had read of this previously, but never considered going, as Banning is too far away for a Cruise Night. But hey, I had always wanted to hit it up! Now I can cross it off my list of things to do. We are so hardcore into trucks that we traveled all the way to Banning, towing dirt bikes, to bring you a few cell phone pictures. It was worth it. I can't wait until the next time we spontaneously find ourselves immersed in a Cruise Night!
And for you guys that load up your projects on trailers to hit up cruise nights while most of us are too lazy to drive our trucks there - that's just awesome.
Thanks to my brother for the cell phone pictures!
