Hello from the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada!
I spent a portion of today scoping out the action at this year's SEMA Show. The rides are here; the companies are here; the people are here! Fear not - "the economy" has not demolished SEMA. It will take another day to get a feel for the overall size.
As for the mini trucks - so far, I have seen a Nissan Frontier, Chevy S10, Dodge D50, and Nissan Harbody. This is quite a nice representation of mini truck makes, and I know there are more mini trucks that I have not come across yet. There seems to be quite a few trucks, especially lifted and off-road trucks. In fact, they have let a few race trucks from the Lucas Off Road Racing Series (LOORS) free on the Proving Grounds to show off what these trucks are made of. These trucks sound awesome and are so fun to watch in action! Maybe we'll see some carnage as the week progresses! I think that us mini truckers can really appreciate and learn from these trucks. I can't wait until they run them again tomorrow.
More coming later! In the early AM I hope to grab some pictures of the outdoor section, as it becomes quite crowded as the day progresses.
