Step 1- Remove the factory vent piece by gently prying up on both sides.
Step 2- Holes need to be drilled in the flat areas on both sides of the opening. A special tool will be needed to install this billet defrost vent piece to the dash. Milwaukee tools sells a low profile 90° piece that can be installed and used as a standard ¼” hex drive used on most common drills and screw bit extensions. The location of the holes can be noted by placing the billet piece in the opening. Using the Milwaukee tool, drill a small 1/8” hole with a uni-bit or similar stepped drill bit, being careful not to contact the windshield.
Step 3- Once the holes are drilled, place a “speed clip” or captured nut around the flat lining up the holes.
Step 4- Put the billet vent piece in place and place a 1.5” long screw with a flat washer down through the hole in the vent and into the clip below.
Step 5- Screw the vent in place with the 90° driver, making sure the vent is lined up correctly.
