The pictures are just unreal. Where you parked your truck for the HAVOC East Shows at the Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky...
...is now up to 17 feet underwater due to displaced water from the neighboring Barren River.
The following photo gallery links show what Beech Bend looked like for the Havoc Show 2007 and Havoc Show 2008. Now fastforward almost two year. This blog, posted yesterday on turnermotorsports99.blogspot.com, unfortunately captures the current devastating condition. It will leave you speechless.
Besides serving as the location of some sick mini truck shows in the past, this flood at Beech Bend is of particular importance today because the Diesel Power Challenge was going to use this drag strip this week as part of their competition. Fortunately, according to this blog from Diesel Power, they have found an 1/8-mile track nearby. However, the Beech Bend drag race portion of this weekend's TS Performance Outlaw event has been cancelled.
We hope for a quick recovery at Beech Bend. The workings of Mother Nature are such that we can't control.
