Sunday meant it was time to pack up our stuff and go home, which we didn't want to do!
After a walk and quick visit to the river again, it was time to leave. By then, most of the park was void of mini truckers. We hit some pockets of heat in the middle of nowhere that were simply unbelievable. This was, of course, after stopping at Taco Bell in Parker (along with all the other mini truckers). We could tell which trucks on the road had no air conditioning - their windows were down just like ours.
We stopped at the Morongo Casino and Resort in Cabazon to cool off and take a break. We were dripping sweat and our cold water was under the tonneau. Even the truck's alarm was tripping out because of the heat. We were not complaining, but a break really did refresh us. Inside the casino, we actually got lucky and won some money.
After a failed attempt to take the truck through a quick (but closed) car wash at home, we unloaded everything and decided that the journey had been a tremendous success. Although the journey had been long, I loved driving my truck and am excited for the next adventure.
