On Friday, March 18, an eclectic collection of performance, diesel, desert, and oversized vehicles headed to the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo for Payday Friday Lunch Cruise #3. As its name indicates, these cruises occur on payday Fridays, creating the perfect incentive to shine up the ride and cruise with co-workers to various great lunch destinations. These cruises provide the opportunity to convince co-workers to reveal their elusive, top-secret projects, which are often the topic of break-room and cubicle chatter. Last cruise I took my air bagged Chevy S10; this time I rode in Jason's desert-ready Ford Ranger prerunner. However, no vehicle was as cruise-worthy as the yellow Ford Condor II motorhome, which you'll see in an upcoming issue of RV Magazine.
This cruise's destination included a super BBQ at the Automobile Driving Museum, the museum that takes you for a ride - literally! However, we couldn't ride in any of their rotating collection of 130 classic, antique, or vintage cars on display because it wasn't Sunday. The idea of riding in a cherished classic car is too cool! After eating, we were treated to a tour of the museum.
Who's going to get the first ticket? That's right - the correct answer is nobody. Of course there are no burnouts and noone ever applies anything more than quarter throttle.
