Taking advantage of Forbidden Fantasy's new 2 day show 'n shine format for 2012, and also capitalizing on our insatiable need for adventure, we found ourselves camping at the VERY nearby Lake Perris SRA Saturday night. Did you know that just beyond the show grounds was a camping area and lake? Instead of being crammed in an overpriced hotel room, we found ourselves chillin' under the stars for what turned out to be a perfect night of camp-worthy weather. With not much to do before bedtime, we busted out our camera after a quick cleaning of the truck for a few night shots. Scattered around our campsite were a few vans of camping youths, remnants of a Model T club, and the tail end of a teardrop trailer gathering. An eclectic group, indeed. I'm sure they thought our truck was out-of-place as well.
On Sunday morning, we took advantage of a drive-up beach-like shore, where we couldn't resist the urge to take a few photos. We stopped short of more hopping and donuts, as we did not want to get hassled by the police (like our Truckin' friends). Although the show was out of sight, we could hear thumping base and the race cars on the circle track.
Overall, it was a great adventure, and camping added an unforgettable element. Be sure to check out our show coverage, Part 1 and Part 2.
